Award-winning Bollywood lyricist Sameer Anjaan, who in 2016 created the Guinness world record of having written more than 3,524 songs, invited the likes of Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Jeetendra, Anil Kapoor among other B-town biggies. Well, we guess, it is safe to say that it was a musical evening as a lot of famous Indian singers, who have given voice to the words of the host of the evening, were there to wish the best for the couple.

From poet-lyricist turned screenwriter Javed Akhtar to playback singers including Sonu Nigam, Alka Yagnik, Shaan, Udit Narayan, Sajid Khan, Bappi Lahiri, Himesh Reshammiya, Kumar Sanu, Anu Malik and more renowned artists added stars to the night.

News: Singer Dhvani Bhanushali says Himeshji motivated her to sing

Published by under HR News

Singer Dhvani Bhanushali’s new single, Leja Re — released by T-Series on November 23 — has crossed 25 million views on YouTube and is presently ruling the charts as one of the most popular romantic tracks of the season. A recreation of Shreya Ghosal’s original song of the same, Leja Re is composed by Tanishk Bagchi and directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru. Earlier this year, Dhvani had delivered the hit remix, Dilbar Dilbar, from the John Abraham-starrer film, Satyameva Jayate.

Hailing from Mumbai, the 20-year-old YouTube sensation is determined to space out her playback career with independent music and singles. “The scenario is changing a lot. Independent music and singles are getting as much popularity and appreciation as film music. I always wanted to be a popstar like Beyonce, so after the success of Dilbar Dilbar, I just wanted to go ahead and do my own single.

Song of the Week (5): Pyar Le Pyar De ~ Genius

Published by under Song of the Week

Pyar Le Pyar De…Pyar De Pyar Le…

Hello Reshammiyans,

We are down to the final song of the week from the Genius soundtrack which is the club track Pyar Le Pyar De.

Thanks to all of you who voted each week for your favourite song from the Genius soundtrack.

Pyar Le Pyar De – Genius

Background of the Song

The song Pyar Le Pyar De reminds me of the days where Himeshji gave us some epic club tracks. This one is certainly classy and has been sung by singers Iulia Vantur and Dev Negi. While it maybe controversial for some to call Iulia a singer, she has done a surprisingly good job on this track. Dev compliments her well on the vocals and they both make a strong impact on the overall sound of the song. I am a little bit disappointed with the picturisation/ of the song, as I feel it deserved more.

If you enjoyed this week’s Song of the Week, do share your thoughts in the comments below.

We look forward to hearing the next soundtrack from Himeshji.

Song of the Week (4): Tujhse Kahan Juda Hoon Main ~ Genius

Published by under Song of the Week

Hello Reshammiyans!

Thanks to all of you who voted in all the polls for Song of the Week for the Genius soundtrack. We have now reached the last poll of the album which featured the two remaining songs Tujhse Kahan Juda Hoon Main and Pyar Le Pyar De and the former song is the clear winner this week. We will discuss Pyar Le Pyar De next week.

Tujhse Kahan Juda Hoon Main – Genius

Background of the Song

Tujhse Kahan Juda Hoon Main is a composition from Himeshji that we have all been waiting to hear for a very long time. Even though Himeshji only sings the chorus lines of the song, his presence is felt throughout. The song has some wonderfully dreamy music sequences which only Himeshji can create (piano interludes and electric guitar rifts) Neeti is truly amazing singing the lower notes of the song and Vineet compliments her very well. I do feel, however, that it is Himeshji who carries the entire composition as the power in his voice lifts the song to a entirely new level.

If you voted for this week’s Song of the Week, do let me know why you love it in the comments below.

News: Himeshji’s most unforgettable songs as a singer

Published by under HR News

The hit-machine of 2000s, Himesh Reshammiya completed two decades of composing music in Bollywood in 2018. Hitting the bullseye with his very first film ‘Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya’, Himesh has cemented a legacy on a solid bank of stellar compositions and tens of hit songs crooned by him. Famous for his initial nasal twang, let’s have a look at some of the most popular songs that were sung by Himesh Reshammiya.

Aashiq Banaya Aapne and Aap Ki Kashish

Unleashing his spell on Bollywood, Himesh took to the microphone as a leading vocal singer in 2005 film ‘Aashiq Banaya Aapne’. Picturized on the then ‘serial kisser’ Emraan Hashmi and Tanushree Dutta, the film’s title track was a sensual number that enthralled the entire nation. The soundtrack featured more chartbusters, particularly ‘Dil Nashin Dil Nashin’ and ‘Mar Jaawan Mit Jaawan’, but Himesh’s ‘Aap Ki Kashish’ emerged as another winner from the album.

Song of the Week (3): Tera Fitoor ~ Genius

Published by under Song of the Week

…Ishq Jo Zara Sa Tha Woh Badh Gaya Re…Tera Fitoor…Jab Se Chadh Gaya Re…

Hello Reshammiyans!

Thanks to all Reshammiyans who have been consistently voting in our Song of the Week polls for the Genius soundtrack. Finally, this week’s winning song is the one that started the hype for the enite soundtrack, the uber melodious Tera Fitoor.

Background of the Song

Bollywood music lovers had been patiently waiting for another collaboration between popular singer Arijit Singh and our Rockstar Himeshji. Arijit ended up performing the song during a concert of his, and then, as they say, the rest is history! Tera Fitoor created an unprecedented hype for the soundtrack and it continues even after its release. Himeshji’s imitable melodious, romantic phrasing, is what dominates the song and coupled with Arijit’s velvet vocals, makes it a dream to listen to.

Song of the Week 2: Dil Meri Na Sune ~ Genius

Published by under Song of the Week

Dil Meri Na Sune…Dil Ki Main Na Sunu…

Hello Reshammiyans,

Thanks to all of you who voted for the second Song of the Week from the Genius soundtrack. I honestly expected it to be Tera Fitoor this week (where are the Arijit Singh fans at?), but to my pleasant surprise, the winning song is Dil Meri Na Sune!

Dil Meri Na Sune – Genius

Background of the Song

Dil Meri Na Sune is a highly awaited collaboration between Himeshji and Atif Aslam, ever since they both appeared on the reality show Surkshetra. Himeshji has a unique method of bringing out the best of any singer under his guidance, and he has surely shown us a different side to Atif’s voice in this particular song.

Whenever I listen to the song, I feel that I can tell just how much Atif has enjoyed singing Himeshji’s composition, and how well his voice has carried the melody. There is also a reprise version of the song featuring singer Payal Dev. The reprise version is the same as the original except for the additional female vocals, but they are singing the original lyrics. I much prefer the original version of the song as not only is it highly melodious, but it also reminds me of some of Himeshji’s compositions as a music director.
