In January Himesh Reshammiya will sing in Hebrew. The composer-singer-actor will be performing a show, Himesh Reloaded, in Israel early next year.
At the request of the organisers and his Israeli fans, he will sing one of the country’s most popular sound tracks. Incidentally, this is the first time he will be singing in a local language during a concert tour abroad. Confirming the news, Reshammiya says he’s looking forward to the performance: “Talks with the organisers, Moshe Primosher and Elias Harman, have been going on for a while. I’m glad things finally fell into place.”

If not a family member, people often turn a friend or confidante into a part of the family. Rakhi brothers have performed kanyadaans at weddings and Rakhi sisters jumped to fulfill roles. Fashion designer Roopa Chaddha is singer Himesh Reshammiya’s Rakhi sister.
He says, “We always celebrate Raksha Bandhan. I respect Roopa a lot. She has been the one responsible for my makeover from a singer to a performer, to a music video star and now an actor. Her support has always been there for me.”

The big news is that the famed Roman White — creator of hit videos of Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood — is going to direct Himesh Reshammiya’s videos for his very first international album in English to be released across 122 countries. These videos will be filmed across the globe in exotic locations by White in September and the music and videos should be launched by March 2011.
Himesh, incidentally, was the first singer from India to perform at the Wembley Arena and the Heineken music hall in Amsterdam some years ago. Now, he will be the first to be launched globally from India in the mainstream western music market.

O Dholna Sajna Ranjhna Re…Nahin Jeena Tere Bina Tere Bina Re! Tujhe Dekhke Armaan Jaage! O Maara Thade Bin, Dil Na Lage…!

Hello Reshammiyans
Thanks to all of you who voted for this week's song of the week which is one of my favourite tracks from Kajraare: Tujhe Dekhke Armaan Jaage
Background of the Song
A song that leads the story forward; ‘Tujhe Dekhke Armaan Jaage’ is a very unique composition from Himeshji. From the first notes of the song one can instantly hear the Rajasthani folk sound that is present not only in the music, but also in the opening lines: O Dholna Sajna Rajhna Re. Then as the song progresses, the mood of the song is shifted to a “lounge feel” with the piano rift and the soothing background beats. Tujhe Dekhke is a duet song and Himeshji has sung with Shreya Ghosal who projects “never heard before” crisp vocals which compliment Himeshji’s voice perfectly. A unique composition of Indian & Western beats mixing together, Himeshji has yet again, created another masterpiece for all his fans to enjoy
Tell us your thoughts about the song here!

The last word comes from Himesh Reshammiya, who has composed the Rafi-like ace Tum chain ho qaraar ho in the just-released Milenge Milenge.
“Rafisaab would have rocked even today. A song like Chura liya hai tumne from Yaadon Ki Baraat can give a run to any chartbuster today. I have had three or four stages in my career so far, in terms of the kind of music I composed, and the first two stages are completely dedicated to Mohammed Rafi, till perhaps Tere Naam and even a bit beyond, when I used Udit Narayanji and Sonuji a lot. These legends are our roots, our inspirations. Jo kaam hua hai woh hamesha rahega! Rafi is not yesterday’s legend but the forever “voice”. He will continue to shape and influence film music forever.”
