Himesh inspires television talent show

According to sources in Mumbai, it’s all official now.

The Indian version of ‘Dancing With The Stars’ has been presumably inspired by a hit Himesh Reshammiya song and will be called ‘Jhalak Dikhla Ja’.

It will be co-produced by Theatre Red and Synergy Communications, owned by Siddhartha Basu, who makes a transition from the General Knowledge sphere to Entertainment.

It is scheduled to launch in the first week of September. ‘Jhalak Dikhla Ja’ will be a bi-weekly show with a high degree of audience participation and viewer interactivity.

This takes the number of recent reality shows on Sony to six – ‘Indian Idol’, ‘Fame Gurukul’, ‘Fear Factor India’ (forthcoming), ‘Extreme Makeover’ (forthcoming), ‘Big Brother’ (forthcoming) and now ‘Jhalak Dikhla Ja’ (forthcoming).

    Hi Jalpa,
    There is no news yet of the show, but I have heard that it will be on Sony & Karisma Kapoor is likely to be one of the judges :D Jem
