My Review: A truly magical evening with Himeshji at Wembley Arena!

Magical evening with Himeshji

Hello All,

I know most of you have been eagerly awaiting for this review so here it is!!! It truly was the most amazing night on 29th October 2006 at Wembley Arena!!!

The show begins!!!

Himani Kapoor, (a SaReGaMaPa challenge 2005 finalist) opened the show with Himeshji’s composition “Purab Se” from the movie “Banaras – A Mystic Love Story” and she also sang “Oodhni” from “Tere Naam” – both were amazing performances! After Himani, came Vinit Singh (who was runner up in SRGMP c2005 from Himeshji’s Rock Gharana) & he got the crowd going with “Dil Vich Lagaya Ve” from the movie “Chup Chup Ke” – which is, of course, another awesome composition by Himeshji! After that Vinit sang the title track of “Tere Naam” & then came Abhijeet Sawant who wooed the crowds by singing his first ever playback song for Himeshji – “Mar Jawan Mit Jawan” from the movie “Aashiq Banaya Aapne”. Then came SRGMP c2005 winner Debojit who mesmerized the audience with “Dil Kahe Raha Hai” from “Kyon Ki”, followed by SRGMP contestants Paresh who sang “Janabe Ali” from the movie “Bardaasht” & Ujjaini who sang “Nikamma kiya” from “Kya Dil Ne Kaha”.

Then finally…the moment we were all waiting for, the man himself, Mr. Himesh Reshammiya came on stage!!! He was on top form, in his “New Look” wearing a red cap & velvet cloak, he began his first act by singing “Aashiq Banaya Aapne” followed by a rendition of “Mohabbat ki Guzarish” and “A a ashiqui mein teri” (in which he replaced China Town with London!)! Then came amazing live performances of I Love You O Sayyoni (Aap Kaa Surroor), Yaad Sataye Teri (Phir Hera Pheri), Allah Kare (Ahista Ahista).

Then it was time for the announcement(s) of the evening: Himeshji talked to us about his forthcoming movie “Aap Kaa Surroor – the Real love Story” which is due to release in June 2007. Himeshji will be playing himself (HR) in the movie, directed by Prashant Chaddha & produced by Vijay Taneja with 2 new faces to be revealed soon. We were all shown the promo of the movie which looked amazing & during the promo we heard a new song composed by Himeshji called “Tanhaiyan” (which is amazing!). The movie will feature 9 new song compositions from Himeshji. Once the promo was shown, there was complete silence in the entire arena & Himeshji came back on stage & asked us all if he had our blessings with him to complete the movie successfully, to which everyone screamed yes! Himeshji then talked about his music schools which will be opening soon in India, and also another album. Then there was a small breather given by a comedian called Ravi Rai & actress Mahek (from the movie Nayee Padosan) who performed to some songs.

Then Himeshji came back for his second act & he gave us all an unplugged version of Samjho Naa followed by Tera Surroor, Naam Hai Tera (Aap Kaa Surroor) & Tum Saanson Mein from “Humko Deewana Kar Gaye”.

For the third act, Himeshji called Vinit to join him on stage & both of them sang “Ae Meri Zoharajabeen” from the movie “Phir Hera Pheri” – it was an excellent performance! Himeshji then requested all SRGMP contestants & Abhijeet Sawant to join him on stage to sing “Junoon” from “Rocky the Rebel” – & then Himeshji performed his last 2 songs of the night “Zara Jhoom Jhoom” & “Jhalak Dikhalaja” & he requested for all of us to turn the arena into a nightclub – which definitely happened!!!! We all danced the night away!!!

I’d like to say a big big thank you to Himeshji for creating a truly magical evening at Wembley arena…it was a pleasure to be in the same arena with you to share your success and happiness & I will always always be supporting you , come what may!!!

    Yes the song “Tanhaiyan” is sung & composed by Himeshji…there are 9 brand new tracks from Himeshji which will appear in the movie! & I can tell you now the song Tanhaiyan is simply supberb!!! ;;) Jem

    Great you are lucky you attend the concert i believe that Aap Ka Suror movie Songs Realy Amazing i cannot wait for please come quickly june 2007 i realy wait for you. God luck himesh bhai for movie and future.

    the show was Rockiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinggggggggggggg. Hats off to Hime$h. it was the best weekend of my life.. a great 1 man show: amazing dancers, sound, lighting, Everything…Erm Himesh, any chance i can appear in your music video?

    The review is very well written. I can imagine your excitement when he came on stage and im so glad you could attend the concert. You totally deserved it .*hugs*he is lucky to have such loyal pankhas like u . Heres hoping u see much more of him, with love, Eisha
