tanha tanha(both), dil ki daro dewaar pe and tu ishq hai mera are superb. tanha tanha has very soft music and it suited well on himesh bhai’s voice, dil ki daro dewaar pe and tu hai ishq mera are another excellent compositions by himesh bhai and are must listen. there music is fabulous. dil dhadkata hai -both male & female versions- is fine, there music is nice especially the drums. and last but not the least, fear is okay but it may go well with what ever the situation is. on the whole, fear is a nice album and i will give it 9.5/10. great work.
himesh bhai since past two days, every morning at fajr time when ever the salah reaches my ear, i remember you and pray for you. and it is believed that at those times allah asks from his people that is there anyone to ask from me for what they wish, and i pray for you himesh bhai.
good bye, take care, allah hafiz.

The following songs are not ranked in any order.

    1. Tanha tanha – typical solid HR number rendered with a powerful punch. When he sings “tum jo aaye rubaru, zakhmi yeh dil ho gaya, lamha jaise tham gaya…..”, it is in the same lower octave as “ek tere siva kuch naiyo jaane re” from dil naiyo mane re (phir hera pheri) and the sudden change sounds wonderful especially considering that HR sings mostly all of his songs in high pitch. The stanzas are sung in super-high octave faintly similar to pattern of stanzas of junoon (rocky) and afreen (red). The singing style can be associated to viraniya (Namastey London) especially in the lines “tanha tahna raat mein hum tere ho liye” and song has a faint treatment as mile ho tum to (dil diya hai) and namumkin (shaka laka boom)….”namumkin hai tum bin jee paana”, ”mile ho tum to is kadar” and “sukun saara chin gaya” slightly resemble, and how about the lines “tanha tanha rato mein”, “tum saanson mein” (HDKG) and “mehfooz rakhta hoon dil mein (apne)”….! HR is one heck of a craftsman.
    2. Dil Dhadakta hai – peppy foot tapping HR-Indian number, the starting tune and the first piece of sound/tune heard is almost same as “vaada hai yeh”
    3. Dil ki daro deewaar pe and tu hai ishq – typical HR-indian numbers of his earlier days before ABA era. I have been craving for such type of melodies since a long while now. Himeshji ne dil ke sunli aur phir udit nayaran ko gaana diya, maaza aagaya, un purane dino ki yaad aagayi, happy to know more of it is left. To see such type of Indian melodies with the combination of sonu, udit and alka is a truly pleasantly shocking surprise, coz I thought it was over. “HR + udit narayan + alka yagnik = ultimate best unbeatable Indian melody combination”. I thought that HR had sold / disposed his Indian instruments long back ago but pleased to know that they are still somewhere in the back store and they came to good use now. Tu hai ishq especially the beginning reminds me of “woh ladki nahi zindagi hai meri (vaada)” and notice that the beats of this song and female chorus between 1st stanza portions slightly resemble the similar stanza of kyon ki itna pyar tumko (kyon ki). The stanzas of tu hai ishq also reflect the stanzas of aa dil yeh bata (Julie). Infact for both these songs, the beats somehow resemble the pattern of beats (im not saying that they are exact) of most of duet songs from bardaasht (silsilay mulakaton, aap ki khata, dil mera dil), aankhen bandh karke (aaitraaz), silsilay (ban jaaye, meri jaan, ahista ahista), yakeen (chehra tera), vaah life ho to aisi (chaahange tumhe), kuch meetha hojaye(title track), main aisa hi hoon (deewanapan deewangi)….many more I can name but leave it there….when you have some spare time, try to match the beats.
    4. Tanha tanha – rocking remix, a song with an alien feel.

I was expecting something surprising this time around, because the name of movie fear is grayish and you don’t quite know what to expect as it is a sort of untried new theme for HR, and he has done well both times i.e. in Red and Fear….I must say that the mixture of HR’s rendered sufi-fuzion tracks along with typical HR-indian melodies sung by udit, sonu and alka along with a peppy foot-tapping item song here and there is a deadly lethal combination rich in variety and a sure-fire hit, himeshji are you listening! This is a different album from the usual routine. Another good thing is that there are no unnecessary remixes thus originality of songs is maintained. Himesh reshammiya is a maestro at genres of love stories and romantic suspense thrillers.

I would like to share with you my topmost favorite songs that HR has composed and sung till now. These songs have bowled me over and made the most impact on me on the very first hearing and have been on the highest number of repeat hearing. They are not ranked in any order and all are equal.

    1. Tanhaiyaan
    1. Tera Suroor
    1. Aashiq banaya aapne
    1. Naam hai tera
    1. Aafreen tera chehra

I believe that these above are the ultimate best composed/sung songs of HR, and are superior and distinguished from rest of his songs. I rate each of these songs at the top as each song as a whole entirety/totality (i.e. each note in the song is from the top stock of HR tunes, beats, singing style, and overall effect) is flawlessly undisputable.

Yahi hota hai pyar (Namastey London), Junoon (Rocky), Dil tumhare bina (36 china town), Shabe firaq (Chup chup ke), humko deewana kar gaye, jhalak dikhlaja (aksar) and tanha jiya na jaaye (tom dick and harry) I believe are also part of his super stuff. Each of these songs qualifies in my list partly because of the whole song in entirety but also because of the feel of certain parts that is just amazingly mind blowing.

All these songs that have mentioned have a unique out-of-the-box special exclusive trademark reshammiya stamp on them and are in a different league from the rest of his songs. The rest of his songs that he has composed/sung I believe that he is anyway genuinely capable of giving them. But if you separate the best alag hatke from the good, then those that I have mentioned go the extra distance.

A common point to note….HR’s first song….that title tune of his serial Andaz….just notice the underlying beats (typical Indian early days HR beats)….he has beautifully lifted and altered/modified these beats, keeping the similarity intact in following 3 songs:

    1. O Jaane jigar – Yeh Hai Jalwa
    2. Sanam mere humraaz – Humraaz
    3. Jaanam tere liye raat din – Kurukshetra
