Firstly, I would like to say a big thank you to you all for participating in our Song of the Week discussions!! Many thanks to all those who voted for this week’s chosen song!

A strong favourite of all Reshammiyans, the chosen song for the next 2 weeks is none other than: Naam Hai Tera!

Background on Naam Hai Tera

Naam Hai Tera originates from Himeshji’s first solo album as a singer & music composer: Aap Kaa Surroor. It is the second song of the album.

Personally, the song has a very special place in my heart, as I am sure it does with all other HR fans. The song has a unique melody with a range of instruments, from the piano introduction to an almost heavy guitar rock feel in the chorus of the song.

The video for the song is also immensly popular & has been directed by Himeshji’s best friend Prashant Chadha. The video featured Himeshji & model turned actress, Deepika Padukone. Deepika also featured in the remix video for the song which had an army look to it.

    the song has a damn western feel to it…but at the same time..it is purely reshammiyan….compositionwise it is superb….lyrics are also good…and most of all…this is the song i would love to see for my love…

    The Piano based song NAAM HAI TERA TERA is another best composition i heard yet. Trademark Reshammiya arrangements are all there in this beautifully written number by Sameer that would be an idle companion over a round of drinks.
    The song is much smoother and soothing to me than other due to usage of piano strings that accompany Reshammiya’s vocals. The song indeed turns out to be a romantic number that has an amazing mix of pop, rock and sufi style of music.

    **You can play the song anytime for your sweetheart and I can bet, She can’t stay far from you. ;)

    d song has all d qualities of a chartbuster song.
    it has many versions. d original song painfully describe d leaving of a girlfriend from her love. d lyrics has heart touching meanings.

    and d remix version for which i have to get my dancing shoes on whenever i listens d song. and d most special iz dat it haz DEEPIKA PADUKONE in it.
    i just love d chemistry between Deepika and Himeshji.

    well….wat can i say….naam hai tera is def one of my ultimate favs…the melody is fab….it’s a fantastic combination of himesh’s 100% awesome music composition n sameer’s touching lyrics….u already knw my fav verse as its also ur fav verse….hehe….i also really love the way Himesh emphasizes the “dil ki” lyrics in the song….i’v listened 2 this song so many times i’v lost count….n i still aint done listening 2 it….
    i love both the vids….Prashant has done a fab job as always….
    n Himesh looks soooooooooo sweet bless him….my fav part in the remix vid is wen Himesh sings “kissi aur se tu nazareh na jhorna” the action he does with his hand is so so so cute….the naam hai tera remix vid was also the very 1st vid i put on my mp4 player….so i guess that jus goes 2 show how much i love the song n the vid….

    as usual the lyrics are so beautiful
    picturisation is superb and it is so beautifully expressed and sung by himeshji.
    i think i can still listen to it upteen number of times.

    The repetition of “Naam Hai Tera Tera” strikes a great impact in this song. Of course, most of Himeshji’s songs in his avatar as a singer has the repetitive aspect to it which makes it like a drug which intoxiacates us with his music;-)

    naam hai tera tera namm hai tera tera
    the song ,as usual the voice 4 which i am crazy to listen and my fav rockstar himesh’s music is out standing . the picturization of the song is superb . himesh looks gorgeous his actions and style is fantastic and of course directed very well. of course mind blowing deepika looks very nice with himeshji one of the (reshammiyan) as you say jem to himesh fans said here that kaash hr oso main deepika k hero hote. what a sweet saying i appreciate u and agree with u in this matter himesh nad deepika looks vey nice and of course their chemistry. i always like about himesh that whenever he sings he sings from the depth of his heart and soul that makes the song very soulful and vvvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy beautiful.

    i like this song very much. the special thing about this song to me is that this is the fav song of my cousin bro from the album AKS.. actually we made him a fan of himesh and he loves this song very much.its very pleasant to hear his voice in this and he goes even to a very high pitch where his voice sounds like thundering……and this song featurises deepika….i love her very much.
    and this is the fav song of Himesh ji from Aap Ka Surroor album.

    i love this song even i’m not understand hindi… both video in this song is awesome!!!! himeshji looks great and i love the part of lyric “tera tasawoor charoon taraf hai yeahhhhhhhhhhh” my dear jem… can u translate this meaning in english… tq
