this movie Karzzz is great because the great great and great music composer and singer Himesh in acting, Singing and Composing in this film but why some foolish people hate HR songs, any way i like Himesh songs too much I dont care about people who love Muhammd Rafi (the old man songs) or lata etc. and some people love AR Rehman`s songs papu cant dance etc same like Pritam and Shankar what the hell are they in the front of himesh. Because Song is incomplete without music and dont give such music which is insult of music Specially to old one A example for himesh The tree which gives sweetest fruit bear more stones “I wish that my this message could be recieved to himesh”

The music is simply ROCKING <:-P

I love each & every track, but if I have to pick a favourite it would be Mashallah....it is one of the most romantic songs ever in recent times, according to me ;;)

First things first, the past is history and due to the buzz and hype, comparisons are inevitable…but to compare with HR’s past works would be unfair here…I have not ranked the songs…the numbers are merely just the track listing order…

    1. Lut jaaon – it is a powerful tune…harshdeep provides a pleasantly unexpected haunting feel…I was looking forward for longer stanzas…the part “jo tune diya is karz me” strikes a pinching effect especially “diya”…nevertheless, the song keeps you hooked on…I was expecting a slow unplugged version also but it wasn’t there…this song is chartbuster material…

    2. Hari om – the jhakaas beats reminded me of similar beats in ishq kiya kiya (Anthony kaun hai)…good overall beats to test your music systems…stanzas are short…this song itself sounds like a remix that I am surprised to see the 2 remix versions…since HR is portraying a rock star’s character…I can understand that Karz cannot do without such a stage song…if not chartbuster, then definitely super-hit or hit at the least…

    3. Tandoori nights – the part “ta tana nana” before the lines “tandori nights” are effective…the kicking techno dhol kinda beats that hit five times during the line “raaba raaba” are just amazing and are a feature of this song…this song goes the western attitude way like “tere sang ishq (tom dick and harry)…the good complimenting stanzas obviously lift the standards of this song than of those watched in promos…and so I take back my words and say that HR has done a fantastic job of coming up with a foottapper around the words “tandori nights”…this song is chartbuster material…

    4. Soniye je tere – the song gives sike with the initial rap and the beats confirm that…cutting edge innovative instruments…an interesting thing to notice in the rap is when the English rappers mix hindi “everybody yaad rahe”…the main instrument used in vaada tainu is used to great effect…tulsi kumar sounds so melodious…the beats reminded me of gila gila (aitraaz)…and the 4 skip arabic beats are amazing…this song is chartbuster material…

    5. Dhoom tere ishq ki – good use of raga based instrument…and again the one used in vaada tainu…and reminds me of ishq ne tere (ahista ahista), vaaada tainu (AKS), kya jeena (AKS-The Moviee), chahe gila karo (AKS)…HR says “dhoom*3” especially the 3rd time… in nusrat fateh ali style…this song is chartbuster material…

    6. Sisak sisak ke – just take it easy, enjoy the rap and rhythm…it’s a funky song on the lines of sawariya no way no way, lets rock (Anthony kaun hai) which were not all that great but something new to which I didn’t mind lending an ear to…I didn’t mind it all that much…just due to the high standards set by other songs…I could be hash and say that this song is a lost sheep in a pack of wolves…its decent and would easily fit in a usual HR album…it goes the carefree way like shikwa hai tumse (dil maange more)…HR has sung with a style that he has asked shaan and KK to sing some numbers in the past for him…e.g. nikkama, zidh na karo, lutf de gayi etc etc…

    7. Tere bin chain na aave – the initial ooooooo…is inspired from oooooo…of chakna chakna (Namastey London)…the beats reminded me the beats of veeraniya (Namastey London)…the part “tere bina chain na aave…reminded me of “alam beteebiya ka kaise tumko baataye (samjho na)…the part..jaaniya ve tu “deekhle”…the tune of “deekhle” reminded me of “tere baigair (tanhaiyaan)”…great use of fast tabla beats…the high pitched starting stanzas reminded me of the high pitch stanzas of “teri umeed teri baate (na jaana-red)…this song is chartbuster material…

    8. Masha allah – good table beats…when the western beats kick in…it reminded me of ulfat (nanhe jaiselmer)…but nanhe was a mixed clone whereas this one is a pure gem…the lines “jate jate karte jaana” sound good…the part doge mauka wapas deedar kaaa…the way “kaaaaa” is taken up and down is melodious and reminded me of how each stanza of naam hai tera ended…mera yakeen tere bharoseee…and how “bharoseeeeeaaaa” was taken up and down….amazing… the same goes for the respective lines in 2nd stanza…some lines offer a muslim/islamic prayer along the way…HR’s vocals sound as sharp as a knife’s edge…this song is chartbuster material

    9. Ek hasina thi – the dhol type instrument was also used in aap ka suroor remix song…since it is not an original HR song, I don’t want to say much…but HR confirms that his voice is also suited for proper Indian songs…ironically the female chorus is present and I wonder why not in other songs…HR has learnt from that terrible tribute to panchamda in AKS-The Moviee and been more careful this time round…

So it is evident that HR has been inspired by his past best works and has created this soundtrax keeping those tunes in mind…which is a good thing to see…what is different from AKS-The movie is that in AKS, HR tried to force in a song with every genre…but in karz…he has kept it simple and effective…soulful Indian or rather classical-raaga based melodies with western flavour and rhythmic foot-tapping numbers…what the doctor ordered… Thankfully HR has given those sufi-rock slogans a break and come home the Indian way along with some foot-tapping numbers…for those non-himesh fans who liked Namastey London (my fav HR-album of 2007) and Ahista Ahista (some terrific work and one of HR’s best)…then you would like Karzzzz too…

I was searching for some more of that “unique typical Indian melody” but didn’t find all that much…but these songs are effective in their own way…its kind of a new “classical-raaga” patent that HR is building, currently overlooking “the typical unique Indian melody” which hopefully he will consider later…I know that sound changes with time…but HR do consider the use of soothing female background chorus and alka yagnik’s vocals…I know that you may have become skeptical after she sung the classical kitna pyar karte hain…but also consider her track record with you…and those wondering what I mean…plz do hear the female versions of “seene me dil (koi aap sa), tere naam and tune Zindagi me aake (humraaz)…

I was optimistic but had a gut feeling after watching the promos…and I thought that I would say “oonchi dukan, pheeka pakwan”, “naam bade par darshan chote” and “ampty vessels make the most noise”…but I swallowed my words and instead say that HR means serious business with this one and is back with a bang…it is beyond doubt that HR is a rockstar, but with Karzzzz…HR confirms that he can also be a classical-raaga maestro cum ustad and deliver soft soothing tracks for those who want to spend a quiet pleasant time rather than hitting the dancefloor…the evidence is Banaras, Ahista Ahista, Namastey London and now add Karzzzz…this album will grow with every hearing…along with good marketing backup…karz should zoom to number 1 and rule…therez no stopping Karzzzz!…and the best music director (2008) is…you guessed it right…

…if I have any upcoming thoughts re Karzzzz music I will let you know…

Brilliant Songs By Himesh once again ,I am really sad that we don`t get 10-12 albums a year as we used to get in the past. But Karzzzz music is excellent

I think Himeshji should continue composing for other movies,I really want a lot more of his songs.

The best songs of Karzzz are

    1)Soniye Je Tere
    2)Tandoor Nights
    3)Lut Jaom
    4)Hari Om
    5)Tere Bina Chaine Na Ave

A few days back i was wondering whether himeshji has sung in tamil for dasa.. and i asked for it in the blog too. it was awesome when i heard it. it was simply superb. It is fantastic to hear his voice in tamil(oh oh sanam remix).
Now it’s time for karzzzz. as i am busy now preparing notes for my college students i have not heard all the songs. coming saturday i am going to buy the cd (original only).
The most interesting news from pondicherry is: most of the people here are having ‘mukunda mukunda’ as their ringtones/caller tunes.
