in that video…salman khan looks as if he has been hit by an elephant…in hindi we say “ek dum haka baka hogaya tha” after seeing the audience’s response
…desperately starved for music in this crisis times,i was going through my compilation and then thought of getting the track listing of iqbal…and there it was…where i found an extremely likeable never-before-heard HR number which speaks volumes for itself…it is aankhon mein sapna sung by ravindra upadhyay…for now i am just pretending this to be a new release where HR is a guest composer….
…also if fans hear this song…i ask…where are such songs right now…this sound has vanished from HR’s music from quite some time now…infact it was lost after the ABA era…when HR debuted…he started with his typical style with humraaz, yeh hai jalwa, kahi pyar na hojaye…then he entered a rhythmic mode with kya dil ne kaha, ishq hai tumse…
…and then from mid 2003 – mid 2005…he entered into my favourite mode,where he made serene exotic indian melodies with likes of main aisa hi hoon,yakeen,taarzan,nighebaan,tere naam,koi aap sa,silsilay,bardaasht etc…the overall setting/mood/feel of those songs (in terms of lyrics,instruments,singers) is clearly missing from what HR does nowadays …i swear that was the best time of my life…HR made such “infectious treats” that got awesome reviews and lapped up by masses and classes without complaints or accusations…i used to buy one great album and listen it countless times and just then a new melodious promo on chartbusters would appear “music by : himesh reshammiya, lyrics: sameer”…and i used to think…wow! its gonna be out in a months time…and this process continued for 2 years…
…for those who already know of this song might as well skip this post,but those that haven’t heard this song…in a nutshell…it clearly showcases what the HR fans are missing (and will continue to miss) in present times…and after hearing this song i san say that HR is equally a musician as an actor…and in general terms…any artist never excels by snubbing/curbing/holding back his natural god-gifted talent for whatever reasons,but rather by showcasing it to the world which leads to appreciation… die hard HR fanatic
