Hello Reshammiyans >:D<

Thanks to all of you who have voted in this week's Song of the Week :D The winning song for this week with 29 votes is "Shaam Ho Chali Hai".

Background of the Song

“Shaam Ho Chali Hain” is a duet with Himeshji & Shreya Ghosal. The song is a very soulful melody and talks about “waiting for one’s love” (Teri Raha Tak Te Hain…Oo Hum Nava). Even though the promo for the song has not yet come on air…the track is fast becoming a favourite amongst all Reshammiyans. With fresh lyrics written by Subratji, Himeshji has once again re-invented himself once again with his melodious music.

Tell us your thoughts about the song here :D

Let’s Rock!

Jem & Sunny :D

0.41 to 0.44, dheere reh (gradual voice rise) NAAAAAAA (prolonged voice deepening) AAAAA (up twist)

0.59, mein AURA (lower octave twist)…terrific

1.10 to 1.11, HE (lower octave twist) AAA…terrific…OOOOOO…the combined words HEAA followed by OOOO…history

The lines CHUTE NA CHUTE NA are sung with utter passion and emphasis.

1.23 to 1.24, high note…TERI (rahat fateh ali style)

1.36, DEKHO (subtle soothing) NAAAAAAAAAAA (prolonged voice deepening) AAAAAA (up twist), history in terms of HR new vocals.

1.39 to 1.43, touching female vocals

From 2.45 to 2.52, KAR (lower octave) TE HAAAA (higher note) AAAAAAI (soothing prolonged), followed by tune sur 4 keys, khamoshiyaan…history

From 4.44 to 4.50, SAATH (lower octave) HE (high) EEEAAAEEE (prolonged), followed by tune sur 4 keys, woh paas hai…history

    Highlights:

HR’s high-pitched (rahat fateh style especially on high note TERI) singing and low-octave especially with prolonged voice deepening and twists-n-turns.

    Shreya’s innocently cute melodious vocals.

Female vocals that sing along with HR and also HAAAAA part.

    The underlying new age beats.

Basically with HR’s high pitched sufi-rwak vocals, he goes fulltu and expresses himself fully (for example in Kabhi Happy Karde).

However for this song, HR had instructed the new singer in him not to go overboard and curb his natural instincts, that is where reshammiya excels.

He sings within himself with a subtle feel and that is quite an achievement for a singer whose natural instincts are agressive (as in his sufi rwak songs).

The composition pattern sure has the trademark sufi rwak prolonged twists but difference is in the manner in which they are sung i.e. with subtle voice deepening instead of sharp abrupt twists.

There is also a ghazal and a shairyaina andaz in this song (also suggested by the lyrics).

HR has done well to get back the soothing feel female vocals in his musical frame, and it does add to the song in terms of the feel factor.

The difference in his new voice is the ’singing style’ more than anything else as HR has sung in the same manner in saregamapa but he has confirmed this fact now.

He has sung most notes in middle octave with some/few notes in lower bazz octave.

Haan yeh zaroori nahin, jo paas hai woh saath hai, na yeh zaroori jo saath hai woh paas hai.

Its very very beautiful song that buck up to build ur faith for acheiving ur love and if its impossible then it strengthens ur positive side as the line goes ” haan ye zroori nahi , jo pas hai wo saath hai , naa ye zrori hai k jo sath hai wo pas hai…………..” and it also shows the situation for those who can get thier loved one as “aoo ge tm kbi dil ko yakin hai chote na chotti teri umeed hai………”
One thing i want to share with u all that this song has made me cried a lot. OOOOoooops i can never forget it. its the first song that has made me cried . On the other hand its a soft heart touching melody. i simply love it. its best from himesji…….

    @ deeps…thank you

actually I have graduated from HR’s school of music…just kidding

I am not formally trained in music (but actually I wish that I was) but I can play literally any song on the keyboard once I hear it…however in an unprofessional way, but I will get all the notes right n within no time…

…I have played all HR songs till date on the keyboard countless times just the way any fan would hear them…so his tunes are sort of coded in my memory chip…it is only because of the no. of times I have heard them over and again…and continue to hear them like any other fan would…

…and on the keyboard, there are many instrument choices i.e. 1 – 99, so It gets easier to tell the sound of an instrument without having actually played it…

    …anyways, thanks…appreciated
