Special screening of Radio hosted by Sandeep Shukla!
Sandeep Shukla hosted a special screening of Radio for a bunch of his friends the other night… as he loves the music of the film.
Himesh Reshammiya himself attended, although he walked in with Rajesh Khattar post the interval.
Yogesh Lakhani and Misti Mukherjee were among the first to arrive. Riyaz and Reshma Gangji of Libas, DJ Sheizwood and Ramji Gulati were also there. Melodious music, popcorn, samosas and filmi baatein… that was the essence of this night!

Himesh Reshammiya: Success is sweet!
If there is anyone who is happy and running to the bank these days it is Himesh Reshammiya. After the success of his film Radio, (at least whatever he is earning is profit as the cost of 6 crores had already been recovered by selling music, video rights etc.) he has been flooded with film offers.
Pooja Bhatt has offered him Kajraare’where he will be presented in a different way, there is a film by John Mathew called New Love Ishtory here he is presented like a Tapori (as he will look like a road side Romeo), then there is the film called Ishk Unplugged, here he has been given an image of a happy go lucky guy and his comic timing has been explored.
So after all we have Himesh making it big with his acting career as well. According to sources Himesh wants to keep on experimenting with his roles so that the audience does not get bored with him and he will not be type cast to be cast in a particular type of films only.
Well, all we can say is keep up the good work Himesh; as long as the cash box is getting filled up at least you can laugh all the way to the Bank!

Himesh Reshammiya is glad that his acting skills in Radio have been appreciated, never mind the fate of the film at the box office. The film’s music has been much appreciated as well.
“My journey as an actor has just begun,” he says.
The three-film old actor is now looking forward to his fourth release, Kajra Re, early next year. It has been directed by Pooja Bhatt [ Images ].
1)Himesh talks to Syed Firdaus Ashraf about Radio’s fate, and Kajra Re.
Many critics have praised your performance in Radio.
Yes. I’m also happy that Radio has recovered its cost through music and satellite and video rights. The music was different and still, it was accepted. My new voice has been accepted (Himesh has not sung the Radio songs in his signature nasal voice).
After 100 films and 500 songs, my journey has just begun.
Now I am moving on to Kajra Re. Pooja Bhatt has presented me in a stunning way and has done a very good job. Mahesh Bhatt [ Images ] has written a very good script. This film is shot in Petra, the eighth wonder of the world in Jordan.
2)Did you expect this praise from the critics?
It’s a triumph for me because people have loved my performance. I was in the music world and have emerged as an actor. It was a tough job and a learning process that will never end. I am doing my best with directors like Pooja Bhatt, Swapna Joshi and John Mathew Mathan in my films Kajra Re, Ishq Unplugged and A New Love Isshtory respectively.
3)Radio barely got released, and you have already moved on to your next project Kajra Re.
Yes. As a music director, I used to do 30 films a year. As an actor, if I do five-six films a year, it is not a lot for me. In the next six months, you will see three of my films releasing.
4)When you look back at Radio, do you feel you should have done something differently?
Yes. I feel I could have improved in many ways. But that’s what I am saying. It is a learning process. You have to keep working and reinventing yourself.
5)What can we expect from the Kajra Re music?
The music is stunning because Mahesh Bhatt, Bhushan Kumarji (head honcho of T-Series music) and I have come together for this film. We are a deadly combination. There are seven songs in the film. I will sing in my nasal voice here, as well as my regular voice.
6)Mahesh Bhatt made magic with Bhushan Kumar’s father Gulshan Kumar in musical hits like Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahi and Aashiqui. So 20 years later, should we expect another musical hit?
There are a lot of expectations for Kajra Re and I think we will be able to fulfill them
According to ETC EXTRAS “himeshji is going for a week rest as he was tired for promoting RADIO”. “Himesh deserves the vacations as his film RADIO is doing better than KARZZZZ”. Which meanz RADIO is a sure hit!!!

I think that if Himesh want to attain success, he must have a well known writer, a well known producer and a well known actress and well known personalities. For me nowadays, people don’t see talents. If only the film would have well know director, producer, actress, like Priyadarshan, Katrina Kaif and others. The film would have been a great success. Himesh also must know to choose for example Karzzz was said to be contain too many songs, how did Radio got the same problem?. If Abhishek was replaced by HR, the film would make success because of the history and actors it contain. Himesh must understand that he has more haters than fans and acting with non-famous personalities would make him acquire nothing but only more haters. Like today, i went to a video club and told the owner if he had radio and he said ‘Oh that *******’s film, i was about to bring it but when i saw Himesh as starrer, i didn’t take it’. When the owner said this, i felt like beating him. So you see. He has earned a very bad image and to remove it, he has to take famous actors in his film.
