Hello Reshammiyans!

Many thanks to all of you who voted for and participated in our very first Valentine Special Song of the Week!

It has been a very difficult task to pick 5 songs from Himeshji’s library as he has sung and composed some of the most beautiful romantic numbers of all-time!

We had asked you all to vote from 5 of Himeshji’s most romantic songs:

1) Aaja Ve (DamaDamm!)
2) Teri Meri (Bodyguard)
3) Aashiq Banaya Aapne (Aashiq Banaya Aapne)
4) Tera Mera Milna (Aap Kaa Surroor the moviee)
5) I Love You O Sayyoni (Aap Kaa Surroor)

Needless to say the winning song with 30 votes is Teri Meri from Bodyguard! Thanks to all of you who voted!

Background of the Song

Bodyguard marked Himeshji’s 101st film as a Music Director. Himeshji’s most celebrated music is with his brother and mentor Salman Khan. There were a lot of expectations from fans with the music of Bodyguard – and it certainly lived up to their expectations!

Teri Meri is the creation of both Salman Bhai & Himeshji’s inputs together. We have often been told how Salman Bhai has a good ear for music and he had heard the original tune of Teri Meri somewhere and decided they should incorporate it in the song. Esteemed singers Rahat Fateh Ali Khan & Shreya Ghosal sing the vocals on this wonderfully composed track by Himeshji.

There are 3 versions of Teri Meri: Original, Reprise & Remix. In the original movie, it is the Reprise version which has been used; for it has the sound of a full orchestra therefore creating the necessary impact while watching the song in the theatre. Teri Meri has been loved by one & all – from the young to the elderly and it continues to be one of the most watched videos on YouTube with the current views reaching more than 8,000,000 million. The BBC Asian Network in the UK have said that Teri Meri & the songs of Bodyguard have been the most downloaded of 2011!


A song like “Teri Meri” does not come every day, every month or every year. It takes 1 special person to put their heart and soul into making such a wonderful composition that touches millions of people all over the world. God Bless you Himeshji – thank you for giving us a song that will stay with us forever!

    Plz Don’t take this in a negative way, this is my opinion. I do not consider Teri Meri as most romantic song of Himeshji, bcoz Himeshji has composed greater songs than teri meri. One example is Main Jahan Rahoon. I think it should be Aashiq Banaya or Tera Mera Milna.

    nice song…why here is no update about Himesh….himesh G ke best song to namaste london ke the jinko unke dusman aaj bhi sunte hai or sunte rahenge…ye viraaniya…mind cracking song..

    whenever we heared this song we lost ourself to an another world, this mesmerising song takes away a place in our little heart….keep rocking the entire world and go ahead….. this is our earnest request to himeshji that he should compose that type of melodious song and rock the nation…. and we are waiting for this…………@

    when i heared this song, i just lost myself to an another world….this mesmerising song took away a little place in my heart….keep rocking the entire world and go ahead…..my earnest request is to himeshji to compose this kind of melodious song in every month…. jai mata di………..lets rock……….. ;) :D :)
