Hello Reshammiyans!

As you all know, The Xpose is now releasing on 16th May 2014 and the music/promos/dialogues have received a great response from you all!

Keeping The Xpose fever going at www.himesh-reshammiya.com, we bring you another exclusive interview with the dialogue writer of The Xpose, Mr Bunty Rathore!

Questions:

1) Buntyji, after giving us wonderful dialogues in Khiladi 786, please tell us how the project of The Xpose came about.

Actually Himesh Bhai had a story about Bollywood’s 60-70 era! He discussed that with me on the set of Khiladi-786… I also got excited after listening to the story of that era and larger than life characters… Then he got the screenplay done and gave it to me for dialogues…

2) I personally, have always felt that dialogue writing is the most difficult part of film making. Please tell us a bit about your background as a dialogue writer and the struggles you have faced to be noticed.

Every thing is tough, if you have to do it… but if you enjoy your work, then it’s a fun trip… And I am lucky that my Hobby became my profession…

I came to Mumbai in 2001… and I had a lot of struggle in my starting days… as everyone has to! I have written a couple of TV show dialogues before movies… in 2005 I got the chance to write for Director Mr. Indra Kumar and “Dhamaal” happened in 2007!

3) Please tell us about your experience of working with Himeshji and HR Musik.

Himesh Bhai is a gem of the person. He trusts his team and also knows the value of trust… That’s why instead of me being a Comedy Writer he gave me the chance of writing a hardcore thriller “The Xpose”
He is superb!!

4) When writing dialogues, do you follow a set style or are you able to write them spontaneously? What are the main decisions involved in dialogue writing?

In dialogue writing we have to follow the characters, era and mood of the movie. There is no such thing like Set Style for writing… Movies have the same mood… But for dialogues we have to follow the characters and their mannerisms! I don’t think I have a set style… and it can’t be for anyone… because we have to write always spontaneously!

5) I have often heard that sometimes actors are given their dialogues to learn as they are getting ready to take their shot. Does this still happen in today’s times?

In today’s making… There is a bounded script and all main actors know the scene already before the shoot! But sometimes for technical and other reason we have to change the scene a bit before the shoot!
And in Comedy movies there are always some improvisation in rehearsals from actors also, that time we have to change it that moment only!

6) The dialogues shown in the trailer of The Xpose, have become immensely popular already. Which character in The Xpose have you enjoyed writing dialogues for the most?

All…. But for HR I have written some nice lines which I also enjoyed!!

7) If we compare both Khiladi 786 & The Xpose, which film would you say was easier to write dialogues for?

No one… But I enjoyed both… as I am very comfortable in comedy, Its fun for me… But in The Xpose I had to write a different thing… and I enjoyed that different zone also!!

8) Please tell us your favourite song from The Xpose

Dard dilon ke kam ho jaate…

9) Please tell us your favourite dialogue from The Xpose

Raja ka Beta bhale hi nanga paida ho, Magar hota wo Rajkumar hi hai!

10) Please tell us about your future projects.

A Movie with Govinda Ji and Omi Vaidhya… Title not final yet…
And another from HR Musik…

Thanks a lot Jem Raj….
