Hello Reshammiyans!

I hope you are all well. It’s 1 year on since The Xpose promotions and Himeshji has bought us wonderful news about his forthcoming projects (Guns and Roses, Heeriye). There is so much to look forward to from our Rockstar so stay tuned!

It gives me great pleasure to say, that after interviewing Music Directors Nitz n Sony earlier this year, our next exclusive interview is with one of my (personal favourite!) singers, Neeti Mohan. You have all heard Neeti in Himeshji’s many songs from last year: Tu Hi Tu, Keeda and Just Look into my Eyes to name but a few. We hope you will all enjoy this interview as Neeti shares her experiences of recording these super hit songs, and her rapport with Himeshji.

1) Neeti, I have never forgotten how Himeshji praised your performance of ‘Aye Bachu’ from Ghajini on the reality show Music Ka Maha Muqabla in 2009. How has your journey as a singer evolved, since you appeared on the show?

NEETI- During ‘Music ka Maha Muqabla’ Himeshji had told me that he had liked my voice. I am so glad that I finally got to sing for him. ‘Aye Bachu’ performance had got me a standing ovation from the audience. It feels great when I look back at my musical journey right from winning reality shows to finally singing in films.

2) We first heard you sing for Himeshji earlier this year on ‘The Xpose’ album. How was your experience of recording ‘Dard Dilo Ke reprise’ and ‘Catch Me If You Can’?

NEETI – The first time I sang for Himesh Sir was actually ‘Tu hi Tu’ from Kick. I was a bit nervous in the beginning, but he made me feel comfortable. He was happy with ‘Tu Hi Tu’ and after that; he called me to sing many more songs. Though, it was ‘The Xpose’ album that got released first. Working with Himesh sir is really nice. He gives me the freedom to sing how I would want to.

3) After ‘The Xpose’, we heard you sing for Himeshji, in ‘Humshakals’ and ‘Kick’. Please share with us your experience of recording these songs.

>NEETI – After singing ‘Tu Hi Tu’, I got to sing ‘Dard Dilo Ke’ , ‘Caller Tune’, ‘Look Into My Eyes’, ‘Xpose theme’, ‘Catch Me If You Can’ and more songs happened. They all were appreciated by the listeners and gave me a chance to sing a variety of songs in films.

4) Which kind of songs, do you enjoy singing the most?

NEETI- I love good Music and I love to sing ballads, folk songs, club songs, jazz, and also songs in different languages. As a vocalist, I want to sing in every genre.

5) You have recently sung 3 songs in the forthcoming film Action Jackson. Please share with us your experience of recording the songs.

>NEETI – I have 3 songs in Action Jackson. Punjabi Mast, Gangster Baby and Keeda. This is the first time I am part of 3 songs in any film soundtrack. I am thankful to Himesh sir for giving me this opportunity!

6) How has your overall experience been so far, of working with Himeshji and HR Musik?
>NEETI- One word Fantastic :)

7) Our personal favourite from Action Jackson is ‘Gangster Baby’, which is a fast paced, rock number. Tell us about your initial reactions of singing this powerful song.

>NEETI – Gangster Baby song needed powerful vocals. Himesh Sir guided me very well. He made sing the stanzas soft and sweet, and the chorus strong and well projected. I think Sir knows my voice well now and uses it very well in each song I sing for him.

8) Is there any song of Himeshji’s that you wish you had sung?

>NEETI – There are many songs that I wish I had sung from Himesh Sir’s repertoire, but if I have to pick 2 they would be Teri Meri Prem Kahani (Bodyguard) and Soniye (Aksar). They are timeless melodies.

9) Please tell us about your forthcoming projects with Himeshji and other artists.

>NEETI – I am very happy that there are many more songs to be released with Himesh Sir this year. I am looking forward to their release. Also, you will hear me in the soundtrack of Bombay Velvet.

Thank you so much Neeti for taking time out to give us such a wonderful interview!
