MUMBAI: ‘The Voice: India’ will now move from its Blind Auditions round to the Battle Rounds, for which the four coaches viz., Sunidhi Chauhan, Mika Singh, Himesh Reshammiya and Shaan, have chosen 14 singers, representing each one of them. In the ‘Battle Rounds,’ each coach pairs two of his or her team members to perform together, then chooses one to advance in the competition.

The second stage, ‘Battle Rounds’ is where two artists are mentored and then developed by their respective coaches and battle advisors to perform together. Eventually, every member of their team will battle against another member from the same team. They will sing the same song simultaneously, while their coach decides who should continue in the competition. The coaches have to choose from seven individual battles to take artists to the live round. In the American adaptation, from season three, coaches were given two ‘steals,’ allowing each coach to select two individuals who were eliminated during a battle round by another coach.

Speaking on the same, Shaan said, “The experience so far has been simply amazing, the quality of singers is exceptional. Blind auditions were challenging and with the Battle Rounds it is only going to intensify.” Singh added, “I received some fabulous reviews on the Blind auditions from my colleagues in the industry. The Voice India is the purest form of singing reality show currently on television and an absolute entertainer. Selecting the team was a tough job and now eliminating artists from the team is going to be even tougher.”

Chauhan opined, “The Blind auditions were a tough call with superior quality voices auditioning for a chance to be a part of The Voice India. Now, with the battle rounds ahead the job is only getting tougher, the coaches will have to eliminate their own team members. The levels ahead are difficult yet exciting and I am looking forward to it.” Adding to that, Reshammiya added, “The Blind Audition rounds was a wonderful showcase of The Voice talent and the best of the lot have been chosen. In the Battle Round, it is all about survival of the fittest. I have a wowtastic team and I am looking forward to coaching them to give it their best.”

The Battle Rounds on ‘The Voice: India’ starts 11 July onwards every Saturday and Sunday at 9 pm on &TV.
