Biography

Himesh Reshammiya is born on 23rd July 1973 and is the son of Veteran Gujarati music director Vipinji Reshammiya.

Himeshji studied at Hill Grange School in Peddar Road where he met his best friend Prashant Chadha. Prashant is responsible for Himeshji’s new look and for directing all of Himeshji’s music videos from his private album Aap Kaa Surroor as well as promotional videos for the movies Aashiq Banaya Aapne, Aksar & Tom, Dick & Harry.

At the age of 16 and before Himeshji went into music direction, he produced television serials for Zee TV which included serials such as Andaz & Amar Prem.

Himeshji’s first big break came through his good friend Salman Khan. Salman gave Himeshji the chance to be a music director for the movie Bandhan along with composer Anand Raj Anand. After the success of the album, Salman & Himeshji have shared many hit filmi albums together, such as Pyar Kiya to Darna Kya, Ye Hai Jalwa, Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge and the more recent mega blockbuster album Tere Naam.

Himeshji’s music has it’s own unique style of composition which is based on a fusion of Western and Indian classical music with catchy techno beats.

With a series of popular film scores (500 songs, 100 films) & a string of 36 song hits, he is considered to be one of the top music directors in Indian cinema today. His music is associated with the youthful and trendsetting culture that has recently been pervasive in India, particularly due to the popularity of the remixes of his songs.

Himeshji entered bollywood as an actor on 29th June 2007 with the release of his first film ‘Aap Kaa Surroor the moviee: The Real Luv Story’ The film released on his mother’s (Mrs Madhu Reshammiya) birthday and the film has done tremendous success by breaking all box office records to date. Himeshji’s follow up movies are Satish Kaushik’s Karzzzz the Vengence is back, Ishan Trivedi’s “Radio – Love on Air” and Pooja Bhatt’s “Kajraare” which is slated to release on 6th August 2010. Himeshji’s forthcoming projects include films with John Matthew Mathan and Studio 18.

I am an old timer now living in the US; I feel you are the best since Kishore Kumar who dominated the 70′s and I loved him then. I think Himesh is truly talented and i really enjoy listening to his music. I was fortunate enough to attend his concert in Johannesburg at Emperors Palace and was very impressed by his show. His music is really hip and happening and really nice to dance too. I could not believe my luck on 14th June 2008, when Himesh called ladies on stage to dance and i actually got the opportunity to do so. I always listen to his music and I think he is a genius.

Thank you for responding. I agree that other judges were also rude with him. But the problem is that other media and news channel try to prove him as arrogant. Even saregamapa is trying to spoil his image by bringing Asha to create more fights which can create a negative image of himesh. I really dont want this to happen. This can affect his filmy career and I want him to be more bigger than srk. I am still his fan.

I have already said that himesh should contor his anger and improve his behaviour in saregamapa otherwise it will affect his image.Thanks to his behaviour mallika has put a question mark on his image by saying that she would expose himesh in public and even media is making headlines out of it. Read todays Mumbai mirror or watch movie masala on aaj tak at 10.30pm. All this will spoil himesh image and all his effort to become a good actor.People will think him as a double standerd man.

Jem I wanted to share something with you.
If you have seen the site of Radioandmusic.com they have given 1.5/5 to himesh but after seeing the sucess of himesh song now thay thave changed to 4/5 also buzz18 has given has given 1.5 to himesh but nade a big mistake by saying that songs of original Karz was composed by RD burman which actually composed by LP. many people have crticised them and latter on they have changed to LP.This shows how much knowledge these sites have about music.

Moral of the story: As you sow so shall you reap

Karzzzz is a great album and a complete paisa vasool for any music lover.

i wud like to congratulate himesh 4 improved acting skills in karzzzz……….himesh’s music was good….but strictly speaking …i was expecting better…….. himesh sud try 4 something new………….y not to try something new….when u r having large no. of songs(9 original songs)&keep most popular songs in movie.& rest 4 promotion of movie(can frame music good music vidios)………not necessary in movie…..everyone luves ur songs ..so no need to cut songs in music album…..BUT HAVING LARGE NO. This is Kabir, hope you recall, especially want to let you know that last year i was on a business trip to the US for some time, away from my family my wife and my son, i was homesick, on my way back home i hired a yellow cab, incidentally, the cabbie was an indian, i told him i was going back home and asked him to play some hindi songs (dying to get back to my wife and son), he put on all your songs through out the way – full 40 minutes, i almost cried on my way back to the airport, recalled our time to gether, especially the those times when we used to go to the mount mary church at mahim. You were a strong believer in god. we all friends always knew you would make it really big some day, (i was sure as your horoscope told so!) .
