Song of the Week (6): Haal E Dil Mera Male ~ Sanam Teri Kasam

Published by under Song of the Week

Haal E Dil Mera…Poocho Na Sanam…Haal E Dil Mera Poocho Na Sanam…

Hello Reshammiyans!

Thank you all for voting for this weeks Song of the Week from Sanam Teri Kasam! Coincidentally, this weeks winning song is the same as last time, but is the male version of the heartbreaking melody Haal E Dil.

Haal E Dil Mera

Background of the Song

The Haal E Dil Mera male version has been sung by Sreeram Chandra. This is the third time that we are hearing Sreeram sing for Himeshji (first being Balma from Khiladi 786 and second in YOLO from All is Well).

He has performed this very song extremely well and his voice has suited actor Harshvardhan Rane very well! Himeshji has given a different music arrangement to the male version of the song in comparison to the female version.

If you voted for this weeks Song of the Week, do tell us why in the comments!

Song of the Week (4): Ek Number ~ Sanam Teri Kasam

Published by under Song of the Week

Wikipedia Pe Check Kar Le, Google Tu Search Kar Le, Baby Zara Look Around Kar Le…Naiyyo Milega Aisa Yaar Soniye…Ek Number Ek Number…

Hello Reshammiyans!

Thank you to those of you who actually took the time out to vote in this weeks Song of the Week from Sanam Teri Kasam. The winning song for this week, is the rock melody ‘Ek Number’.

‘Ek Number’ – Sanam Teri Kasam

Background of the Song

‘Ek Number’ is a wonderful duet sung by Himeshji and Neeti Mohan. The song comprises of a mix of English, Hindi and Punjabi lyrics and is blended together by a fusion of soft rock and piano melodies.

After writing the lyrics to the super hit club track of 2012 ‘Hookah Bar’, Himeshji has also written the lyrics of ‘Ek Number’. Surprisingly, the song (though picturised on the lead actors of the film), is not mimed by them and is mimed by the side characters.

If you voted for ‘Ek Number’ this week, do tell us why and what makes this song your favourite!

We shall vote for our next favourite song from ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’ next Sunday.

Song of the Week (3): Tera Chehra ~ Sanam Teri Kasam

Published by under Song of the Week

…Zikr Tumhara Jab Jab Hota Hain…Dekho Na Har Lamha Teri Dastaan Kahe Jaata Hain…Meri Har Ek Tadap Ko Sakoon Mil Jaaye…Tera Chehra Jab Nazar Aaye…Tera Chehra Jab Nazar Aaye…

Hello Reshammiyans!

Thanks to all of you who have voted for our third Song of the Week from Sanam Teri Kasam. The winning song from this weeks voting, is the beautiful melody ‘Tera Chehra’ a unique composition from Himeshji with mighty strong vocals from Arijit Singh!

Tera Chehra – Sanam Teri Kasam

Background of the Song

‘Tera Chehra’ is a solo male composition which has been powerfully sung by Arijit. One will notice that this song is very different to Himeshji’s other compositions and he has given us a strong lilting melody and hookline which you can hear throughout the song. I would say that there is more focus on the singer and the lyrics in ‘Tera Chehra’. It is an extremely pleasant song to listen to and one can feel the true essence of love while listening to it. As mentioned in the ‘making of Sanam Teri Kasam’ video, ‘Tera Chehra’ is a strong favorite of directors Vinay and Radhika as they wanted a song that would capture the feelings of the films characters at a particular point in the story.

Song of the Week (2): Sanam Teri Kasam title track

Published by under Song of the Week

Betahasha Dil Ne Tujhko Hi Chaha Hai Har Dua Main Maine Tujhko Hi Maanga Hai Tera Jaana Kaise Koi Batdua…Dur Jaoge Jo Tum Mar Jayenge Hum…Sanam Teri Kasam Ohoho

Hello Reshammiyans!

A big thank you to all of you who have voted for this weeks Song of the Week. It was a very close voting situation between Tera Chehra and the title track this week, but the title track has clearly won all of your hearts to become our second Song of the Week!

Sanam Teri Kasam

Background of the Song

The beautifully haunting melody of the Sanam Teri Kasam title track, was not an easy creation for Himeshji. Not only did he have to shake of the popular original title track of the Kamal Hassan film ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’, but also create a melody that would become a timeless romantic classic.

Himeshji has created an outstanding composition where he has also kept the music as the main star of the song (the song has an unusually long intro which is often rare in today’s Bollywood music). The original title track has been sung by Ankit Tiwari and Palak Muchhal while Mohammad Irfan and Palak Muchhal have sung the reprise version. My personal favourite is the Ankit Tiwari version.

The song has been wonderfully picturised on actors Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane, through the creative eyes of directors Vinay and Radhika who have bought this wonderful melody to life.
