Song of the Week (5): Pyar Le Pyar De ~ Genius

Published by under Special Features

Pyar Le Pyar De…Pyar De Pyar Le…

Hello Reshammiyans,

We are down to the final song of the week from the Genius soundtrack which is the club track Pyar Le Pyar De.

Thanks to all of you who voted each week for your favourite song from the Genius soundtrack.

Pyar Le Pyar De – Genius

Background of the Song

The song Pyar Le Pyar De reminds me of the days where Himeshji gave us some epic club tracks. This one is certainly classy and has been sung by singers Iulia Vantur and Dev Negi. While it maybe controversial for some to call Iulia a singer, she has done a surprisingly good job on this track. Dev compliments her well on the vocals and they both make a strong impact on the overall sound of the song. I am a little bit disappointed with the picturisation/ of the song, as I feel it deserved more.

If you enjoyed this week’s Song of the Week, do share your thoughts in the comments below.

We look forward to hearing the next soundtrack from Himeshji.

Weekend Treat: Dil Kahe Raha Hain ~ Kyon Ki

Published by under Special Features

Dil Kahe Raha Hain…Tujhse Yun Rishta Jhodelu Teri Dhadakano Ko Chulu…Tera Jism Oodhlu…

Hello Reshammiyans,

As always, I hope you are having a fab weekend so far! Our weekend treat this weekend is the ever green and ever popular Dil Kahe Raha Hain from Kyon Ki. Another fine and most loved soundtrack from the team of Himeshji & Salman Khan.

Dil Kahe Raha Hain is sung by Kunal Ganjawala for Salman Khan. It is a well known fact that Salman wanted Himeshji to sing this song in his own voice because he loved it so much, but Himeshji was not yet ready to launch himself as a singer. The song went on to become extremely popular and is still heavily played on the radio today especially in the UK. One of Himeshji’s very melodious compositions. Thank you Himeshji!

Enjoy this weekends weekend treat!

Weekend Treat: Laga Prem Rog ~ Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya

Published by under Special Features

Liya Bechaani Ka Rog…Laga Laga Laga Re…Laga Laga Laga Re Laga Prem Rog…Chunari Leherayi, Payal Chamkai…Liya Bechaani Ka Rog…Laga Laga Laga Re Laga Prem Rog…

Hello Reshammiyans!

I hope you are all having a good weekend. Our weekend treat for this weekend is the beautiful Laga Prem Rog sung by Alka Yagnik, and Kamaal Khan, composed by Himeshji for the film Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya. This song was very popular when the film released and is still played today on the radio. The song is picturised on Sushmita Sen and Salman Khan and has a comic touch to it however this comic side has not been reflected in the lyrics of the song. Himeshji has created a beautiful melody and Alkaji’s light vocals really uplift the song and make it a pleasure to listen to.

Enjoy this weekends treat.

Weekend Treat: Go Go Go Govinda ~ Oh My God!

Published by under Special Features

Atake Matake, Jhatake Saare Hain Tu Aaj Shola Toh Hum Bhi Kuware Hain, Tu Aasmaan Main Hain Toh Chand Taare Hain Hum…Chahe Dum Nikle Ye Dum, Hai Kasam Teri Kasam…Tujhe Aaj Chhodenge Na Hum…

Hello Reshammiyans!

I know its not Janmashtami yet but our weekend treat this weekend is the very energetic Go Go Govinda from the film Oh My God! ;o)

This song was one of Himeshji’s hits of 2012 and has been sung by singer Aman Triikha and Shreya Ghoshal. The song, picturised on Prabhu Deva and Sonakshi Sinha, shows the Janmashtami celebrations in the film. There was a lot of excitement in the industry about this song because everyone could not wait to see Sonakshi dance with Prabhu Deva, that too on a dhai handi style song. At the time, this song marked the bollywood debut of Aman Triikha (Surkshetra fame) who went on to sing many more super hit songs for Himeshji including Hookah Bar and Gore Mukhde Pe Zulfaan di Chhavan from Special 26.

Enjoy this weekends treat! Happy Women’s Day to all!

Weekend Treat: Pe Pe ~ Shortcut Romeo

Published by under Special Features

Dhak Dhak Dhak Dhak Dhadke Jiya…Mar Mar Mar Mar Mar Marwadiya…Dil Romantic Hoke Bola…Main Shola Tu Coca Cola!

Hello Reshammiyans!

I hope you have all had a great week and are having a good weekend! Our weekend treat for this weekend has been chosen by HR fan Manas. It is the very fun, crazy and energetic song ‘PePe (Main Shola Tu Coca Cola)’ from Shortcut Romeo!

This song brings out the fun side in Himeshji’s vocals. Music is all about experimenting with feelings and sounds right? Therefore every now and again, it is good to show that lil bit of pagal-pan in your sound. Himeshji has done this before with the humourous song Mango from Damadamm. Main Shola Tu Coca Cola is a quirky fun loving song that expresses how the hero feels for his heroine: ‘main 24 tu ghanta, main christmas tu santa…’ whilst keeping the story of the film there too ‘hai tera tijori…mera jiya!’ PePe is a unique, out of the box song and I personally thank Himeshji for giving us this kind of music too. Versatality at its peak. HR Rocks!

Main Shola Tu Coca Cola:

We hope you will all enjoy this weekends treat! Share with us your feelings about the song.

Hello Reshammiyans,

I hope you are all well and have had a good week. Our weekend treat this weekend, is the wonderful duet from Himeshji & Alka Yagnik for the film 36 China Town, Dil Tumhare Bina. All the songs from 36 China Town proved to be equally popular and are still remembered and loved by all fans even today. Enjoy this weekends Weekend Treat and rewind back to the magic of 2006:

Published by under Special Features

Har Insaan Ne Kabhi Na Kabhi Kisi Na Kisi Se Pyar Kiya Hain. Maine, Aap Sab Ne. Toh Ussi Pyar Ke Naam, Zindagi Qurbaan…Mohatarma…

Hello Reshammiyans!

I hope you have all had a great week and a good valentines day! Our weekend treat this weekend is a very special song from Himeshji’s super hit debut movie Aap Kaa Surroor. This song is very romantic and it’s picturisation became iconic of sorts as it introduced India’s First Rockstar to the world! While Himeshji is currently shooting for his next film ‘The Xpose’, it is time to re-live the wonderful memories of Aap Kaa Surroor movie:

Mohtarma (Assalaam Vaalekum):

As always, please share with us your thoughts about the song and think about the time you first heard the song, back in 2007. Even the dialogue spoken by Himeshji in this song ‘har insaan ne…’ became very popular amongst his fans. It truly is one of Himeshji’s most iconic songs ever.

Once again, thank you to all who have joined our twitter page and our facebook page!

Weekend Treat: Dekhun Tujhe Toh Pyar Aaye ~ Apne

Published by under Special Features

Dekhun Tujhe Toh Pyar Aaye…Seene se Dil Chala Jaaye…Dekhun Tujhe Toh Pyar Aaye, Seene se Dil Chala Jaaye…Tere Aane se Pehle, Tere Jaane Ke Baad…Aati Hain Aati Hain, Teri Hi Teri Yaad, Teri Hi Yaad Sataye…Dekhun Tujhe Toh Pyar Aaye…Seene se Dil Chala Jaaye…

Hello Reshammiyans!

I hope you are all well and enjoying the month of love! Valentine’s day is not very far away! Keeping this in mind, our Weekend Treat is the very romantic and wonderfully picturised ‘Dekhun Tujhe Toh Pyar Aaye’ from the film Apne. The song has been sung by Himeshji and Akriti Kakkar, and is picturised on Katrina Kaif & Bobby Deol. I remember this song was very popular during its release and the lyrics are very honest with expressing the feelings of the characters. We unfortunately, do not get to see such romantic and honest lyrics in todays music.

Dekhun Tujhe Toh Pyar Aaye:

I hope you will all enjoy this weekend’s song choice and I wish you all a very romantic week ahead! ;o)

Weekend Treat: Tujhe Dekhke Armaan Jaage ~ Kajraare

Published by under Special Features

O Dholna Sajna Ranjhana Re…Nahin Jeena Tere Bina Tere Bina Re…Tujhe Dekhke…Armaan Jaage…Maara Thade Bin, Dil Na Laage…Tujhe Dekhke Armaan Jaage…Maara Thade Bin, Dil Na Laage….O Rabba Jaane Maheruba, Jaane Hoga Kya? Aage…

Hello Reshammiyans!

I hope you are all well and have had a good week. It is the first of February and for many, February is also known as the month of love! Valentine’s day is on 14th February and all this month, we shall be sharing Himeshji’s most romantic songs so look out for our special feature in the coming weeks!

Today’s Weekend Treat is the wonderfully romantic (and my favourite from Kajraare!) Tujhe Dekhke Armaan Jaage. Sung by Himeshji & Shreya Ghoshal with lyrics by Sameerji directed by Pooja Di (Bhatt). This song is a wonderful blend of Rajasthani lyrics and lounge music mixed together. The piano you hear in the intro? Yes, that is the ‘lounge’ element in the song. The entire album of Kajraare is wonderfully innovative and it is a shame not to celebrate this wonderful soundtrack!

Tujhe Dekhke Armaan Jaage:

Share with us your thoughts about the song and your reactions when you first heard the song a few years ago. We look forward to reading all your thoughts!
