Himesh Reshammiya’s The Xpose has been invited to be the closing film of the Bollywood Festival Norway 2014. In 2010 Salman Khan’s Dabangg was also premiered at the same event. Among those invited are, the producers and the cast of the film including Himesh and Yo Yo Honey Singh.
To be held in September 2014, the festival is now in its 12th year and the finale will be on September 11, 2014.
Touted as a grand celebration of song and dance, the festival is among the biggest in north Europe and the Scandinavian region.
Despite initial reservations in the trade, The Xpose sailed through at the box office and earned a positive return on investment for all those involved.
They are already thinking ahead by planning to start work on a sequel to the film. But it has emerged that they are on different tracks.
Actor-producer Himesh Reshammiya and director Ananth Mahadevan are not stopping at celebrating the box office success of their latest release, ‘The Xpose’.
HImesh Reshammiya wants the sequel to remain true to the mystery thriller zone while continuing with the character Ravi Kumar, which takes inspiration from yesteryear star Raaj Kumar. He wants to take the ’70s era story forward from where he left it in the first film. On the other hand, Mahadevan wants to make it a Rajesh Khanna biopic where he wants Himesh Reshammiya to play the star.
Says a source, “Himesh wants to reprise Ravi Kumar’s character because he thinks that the thriller zone has worked for him once and it will work for him again. Along with Ananth, he wants to announce the sequel at the film’s success party.”

by Box Office India (May 24, 2014)
Once a film does well, it’s almost knee-jerk for the filmmakers to plan a sequel. Well, it’s the ‘in’ thing today. No wonder, Himesh Reshammiya, too, has decided to make sequel to his latest and successful film The Xposé. We’re told the sequel will have many surprises and much better music and better visuals than the first part in addition to the most unexpected supporting cast.
Himesh Reshammiya in conversation with team Box Office India
Box Office India (BOI): After The release of The Xposé, how are you feeling?
Himesh Reshammiya (HR): I’m feeling good that the film has received good reviews and has made money also. You see, after Aap Ka Suroor, there was this question mark about whether a film of mine would work or not at the box office. I am relieved and happy that a film of mine has worked.
Himesh Reshammiya’s The Xpose that featured the crooner’s return to acting has been faring rather well at the box office. Now one week after the release of the film, Himesh’s father Vipin Reshammiya, who is also the producer of the film, is pretty pleased with the film’s performance. Says Himesh, “The Xpose is my dad’s first film as producer and I’m happy that I have given him a hit and a franchise”.
Talking about the super hit music and the dialogues that got The Xpose superb collections, the film’s distributor Anil Thadani says, “The word of mouth for the movie is very strong and the critics and audience have loved Himesh’s performance.” Simultaneously adding, director Ananth Mahadevan, who feels Himesh, who is just embarking on his journey as actor, certainly has come a long way, “Himesh’s dad Vipin Reshammiya who is the official producer of the film is a very happy, and Himesh will certainly go places.”
During the shoot of the film The Xpose, rumors of the actresses Sonali Raut and Zoya Afroz getting into catfight were doing the rounds. While there was a scene in the film, where the actresses were seen pulling each other’s hair, something similar seems to have happened off screen too.
However, now with the growing success of The Xpose, the two have decided to reconcile and let bygones be bygones. The actresses have not only decided to patch up but will also perform at the success bash of the film. Director Ananth Mahadevan confirmed the news and said, “Yes, they will be performing on ‘Ice Cream Khaungi’ at the success party based on the RD burman theme. I am very happy that Himesh as an actor got his due from the critics and audiences. So, I have requested for a live performance of Himesh on all the tracks of the film at the party as a remembrance.”
Barely a week after his murder-mystery The Xpose released, Himesh Reshammiya, who is happy with the response, is planning a sequel. “I am glad my dad’s (Vipin Reshammiya) first film as a producer is turning into a franchise,” he says.
Last seen onscreen in 2012, Himesh Reshammiya is back as an actor, starring in his latest film The Xpose. Inspired by the glamour and jazz of Bollywood industry in the 60s, The Xpose has a lot of elements inspired by the real life incidents of that era. The film which hit the theatres last week has been declared a hit and the credit is given to the unique music that Himesh composed for the film.
Talking about the same, the director of the film, Ananth Mahadevan says, “The credit for the success of The Xpose goes to R.D. Burman and Himesh. Himesh’s inspiration for the music of The Xpose is the one and only R.D. Burman ji.”
The makers of ‘The Xpose’ are keeping their fingers crossed for a favourable response from the audience. “Himesh (Reshammiya) has worked hard, not just in transforming himself into a superstar of the 60s, but also on his performance as a suspended cop-turned-actor,” says director Ananth Narayan Mahadevan.
