It was Himesh Reshammiya’s birthday yesterday and the man hasn’t stopped smiling even as a day has passed by. Reason being that he managed to convince his parents to compose and sing a song that would be primarily a “family only” affair. Titled “Taara Vina”, the song is in Gujarati and while Himesh’s dad Vipin Reshammiya would be composing it, he would also be coming behind the mike along with wife Madhu Reshammiya to sing it.

Himesh Reshmmiya is all set to make a comeback with his upcoming film Kajraare. Kajraare was all set to release on 6th August, but now the film has been postponed to Eid.

“ The film is based in Pakistan. So I am happy that the film is releasing during Eid. Audience can watch it worldwide,” says Himesh Reshmmiya.

Himesh Reshammiya has been on a no-sugar diet for the last six months and has been avoiding sweets and ice creams. On his 37th birthday today, however, the Kajraare actor will indulge his sweet tooth.

Himesh reveals his ‘birthday diet’, “I will not follow my regular diet just for today. I plan to eat some kaju katlis, ice creams and some other sweets that I have been avoiding for a while now.”

Himesh Reshammiya celebrates his birthday today and he has got a unique gift from his producers. His film Kajraare that was scheduled for release on August 6, has now been pushed to Eid.

Ramzan starts from August 10. The film has a strong Muslim theme and the producers feel that the collections could suffer if released in the Ramzan month.

Thanks to all of you who voted for this week's Song of the Week. After Rabba Luck Barsa, the next song the Reshammiyans have voted for is the title track: Kajra Kajra Kajraare with 56 votes!

Background of the Song

Himeshji has given a very unique and strong melody to the title track of his film Kajraare. The song is a part-duet with the first verse and a rap portion being sung by popular female singer Sunidhi Chauhan. Sunidhi has provided a real sense of “fun” to the song before Himeshji’s soothing vocals kick in, ready to capture your attention.

The alaap at the beginning of the song gives a mysteruious feel, and the funky beats following the alaap, make you want to dance and they also provide an arabic feel to the song. Himeshji’s trademark instrument: the violin makes an appearance before the second half of the song begins. Sameerji has given wonderful lyrics yet again, describing the heroine’s beauty after Himeshji’s character in the film “Rajiv” has seen her for the first time (note: loot gaya mein pehli nazar mein/na mein jaga na mein soya, tujhko dekhke sudh-budh khoya…)

In the absence of Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor, producer Boney Kapoor has brought the singer/composer/actor Himesh Reshammiya on board to promote Milenge Milenge.

Producer Boney Kapoor seems to have got too busy parading that his lead actors Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor are “back together”, much to the actress’s disapproval of course. Boney’s plans to promote his film would have been in trouble had Himesh Reshammiya not stepped in.
