Song of the Week (9): I Miss you Baby…Like Mango

Published by Jem under Song of the Week

Jab Tum Jaati Ho…Jaldi Nahi Aati Ho…I Miss You Baby…Like Mango….Like Mango…

Hello Reshammiyans!

Thanks to all of you who voted for this week’s Song of the Week! It was a tough call again and Bhool Jaaun ft Sachin Gupta was leading the first part of the week only to be taken over by the ‘surprise’ song of DamaDamm!: Mango!

Background of the Song

It can be said that the song ‘Mango’, is a very spontaneous and impromptu number from Himeshji. Aditi Singh Sharma who accompanied Himeshji on ‘Madhushala’ also accompanies him on ‘Mango’ and we get to hear her sing in a totally different, very Western style. Again, something that has never been attempted before in Bollywood Music.

After seeing the song promo, it becomes clear to the viewer that Sameer sings the song to please his ‘nagging girlfriend’ Shikha who is constantly missing him and wishing she was there at the party.

Himeshji has used a completely different style of composing for this song and it features some very strong Western music elements and hence became this week’s Song of the Week :D

Tell us why you voted for Mango this week!

DamaDamm!: Counted in Top 11 Soundtracks of 2011

Published by Jem under DamaDamm

Hello Reshammiyans!

I am very happy to bring you all the great news that DamaDamm! has been counted in the Top 11 Soundtracks of 2011 thanks to Bollywood Hungama! Excerpt from their article:

Damadamm (Himesh Reshammiya)

Himesh Reshammiya may be waiting for audience’s acceptance when it comes to his acting career but for his music, there were, there are and there would be takers. This was witnessed in Damadamm as well where he brought together a variety of songs, most of which were gladly lapped by the audience. An occasional ‘Mango’ may have made a few wonder what he was up to but half a dozen other songs, most notably ‘Umrao Jaan’, ‘Aaja Ve’, ‘Bhool Jaun’, ‘Tere Bina’ and ‘Hum Tum’ were good enough to keep his fans and followers entertained.

Conngratulations Himeshji! This is just the beginning! ;o)

News: Himeshji

Published by Jem under News From The Blog

In a recent interview with BollySpice.com singer Aditi Singh Sharma speaks about her experience of working with Himeshji at HR Musik:

Himesh Reshammiya:

Himesh ji I have a lot of respect for, it was really cool to have worked with him. I love his melodies. ‘Mango’ was crazy and he just let me do my own thing, but on ‘Madhushala’, it was awesome to have gotten a chance to try something different. I worked in the studio with Himesh ji’s dad, very hard on the song and I’m very grateful because Himesh ji and I have both tried 2 different styles in the song and I’m guessing it’s worked!

Himeshji: Interview

Published by Jem under HR Interviews

Himesh Reshammiya hopes to lose weight in the next couple of months. And he’s set a rather ambitious target too. He wants to be lighter by 10 kilos by February. All this, for a new action film and an upcoming reality show. So, while you can expect to see Himesh sporting a new look, rest assured that the cap will stay. He tells CS why:

Lucky charm
The cap has proved very lucky for me. There was a phase when I took it off, and then all my projects bombed. I’m going to always wear it now, in my films and TV shows too. It feels good to know that I’ve finally got a film that’s clicked with the audience. Otherwise, you know that I’ve been panned for my work in the past.
